French Events and Activities
Pen Pals
We will be doing a Pen Pal exchange throughout the school year for all middle and high school students. This is another great opportunity to practice communicating in French. Students will receive written responses from their Pen Pals. I prohibit the sharing of social media accounts however, pictures are allowed as long as a parent gives consent.
Le Concours Oral
The Concours Oral will be offered again this year. This is a great opportunity for students to show off their skills by either picking a poem, musical number, theater piece with friends or prose piece (In French) where they will compete in our regional competition and have a chance to go to state. The Concours Oral will take place sometime in March, with the state competition in April, in order for enough time for medals to be sent out. Due to the pandemic the Concours Oral will be virtual this year with participants submitting a video of their piece.
Le Grand Concours
The Grand Concours will be offered again this year. This is a great opportunity for students to show off their French skills by taking a test evaluating their listening comprehension, reading comprehension and grammar skills. Every student will receive a participation certificate with a chance to win bronze, silver, or gold medals.

Academic Integrity Policy
Unless specifically stated by the teacher in writing all work turned in, for credit, is to be authentic (done by YOU) not copied from a “partner” because you “worked together”. Work cannot be recycled from previous classes or assignments. All work should be individual, therefore, sharing of any Google Docs or part thereof is not permitted.
In addition, unless specifically stated by the teacher in writing, all work turned in is to be completed entirely by you. This means that unless the assignment asks you to consult sources, you are not allowed to do so. This includes using any form of published online notes, websites, essays, or other resources, including people other than your teacher. Even if you put these materials into your own words, your act of consulting resources when you are not allowed to do so is cheating. If sources are permitted to be used on an assignment, all material used MUST be properly cited. This includes material that you rephrase as well as material that you quote.
